Thread information every fastener RFQ should include
Diameter, pitch, tolerance class, handedness and inspection method should be unambiguous.
A thread callout should identify the standard, nominal diameter, pitch or threads per inch, tolerance class and handedness. Special starts, modified profiles and coated conditions require additional definition.
For critical service, state the required inspection method and acceptance standard. This prevents assumptions about gauges, measurement condition and final fit.
